Bored At Work

This is what happens when you are bored at work and you are texting your husband:

Me: Hey there my Scotty what's it like in Walmart City. I'm about 10 miles away but boy today you look so prety, yes you do. Walmart's lights can't shine as bright as you, I swear it's true. (13:20)

Scott: Hey there my Nancy what's it like to be pregnant? You're about 8 months now and you look so pretty yes you do. I did this to you! (13:28)

Oh this is all my fault! Cause I knocked you up! Oh this is all my fault cause I knocked you up! (13:29)

Me: Hey there my Scotty don't you worry about the distance, two more months and we'll have Hailey here and we'll be both so happy, close your eyes. Listen to my voice, it's Hailey's vibes. She's here inside. (13:31)

Scott: Oh this is all my fault! Cause I knocked you up! Oh this is all my fault! Cause I knocked you up! (13:34)

Nancy: 8 more weeks seems pretty far but we've got cribs and clothes and all and I'd pull her out if I had no other way. Scotty I can promise you that by the time that hailey's through our world will never ever be the same and you're to blame. (13:41)

...that's about all I'll share. ;-)

30 Weeks!!

30 Weeks Wed. January 11, 2012

10 WEEKS UNTIL MY DUE DATE!!

How am I feeling?
- I can't believe I am at 30 weeks! This is another milestone that I never thought I'd make it to. This really puts me into the final stretch of the pregnancy!
- Although I say that I can't believe I am already at 30 weeks, it feels like I have been pregnant forever. What I mean is, it seems like there wasn't ever a time when I wasn't pregnant and didn't have to be careful about how much I lifted or how hard I exercised. I really can't wait to get back into a normal exercise routine or just have my belly back. I don't mean a flat belly - I just mean an empty belly that I can lay on again or bend in half again!
- Still having a hard time sleeping through the night - I think this is probably going to progress until I actually have the baby. Oh well.
- Charlie horses like crazy - yesterday I just went up on my tip-toes for a slight second and I started getting on in my calf. I definitely have to be more careful these next several weeks when I want to stretch my legs or anything.
- A little stressed, actually! The more baby stuff we accumulate, the more I realize just how small our house really is. I know we can do it - other people have done it with 2 kids in this house before. And I know we're not meant to move yet. But with my orderly personality, it is hard to see more stuff get crammed into our already small house. I think another thing that stresses me out is that I seriously would just do things the old-fashioned way - none of this fancy baby equipment that everybody has to buy now that take up so much space. However, when stuff is given to us for free, I definitely can't complain and am grateful for the gifts. So now I will just have to manage our space the best we can and deal with it until we eventually do move.

What am I feeling?
- Still more kicks, punches, and rolls. I love being able to watch my belly jump around. I especially love that Scott can feel her kick as well. I love putting his hand on my belly at night when she is most active and having him laugh in his half-asleep stupor.
- I am starting to feel her more up in my ribs. It helps me remind myself to sit up straighter at work, though, so she is a good posture-reminder.

Mommy Stats:
- Well, I won't tell you my actual weight, but yes, I have gained, a little more than I should be. I will be a bit more careful with what I eat this next month until my next dr's appt. Hopefully my gain will be a lot healthier than it has been the last few months with the holidays.
- Dr says glucose looks good, so I am not worried about that.

Baby Stats (according to BabyCenter.com):
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

Finally, here are some more things I have gotten from great friends!!

Cute decorations for the "nursery" !

A Rocking Chair!

A Bassinet (which, by the way, is a PERFECT neutral color!)

A baby bath tub (honestly - who cares if it's blue. I don't think Hailey will mind at all.)

I also got a boppy pillow, two baby slings (which I am SO excited for), and a few other neat things. Thank you so much, Jess (and others)!!

Hello

Today starts back the first day of the semester. And I don't have to go to school. Weird? Actually, not! It feels kind of nice!! But Scotty is gone at school and I am bored at home, alone. I purposely left a lot of things for me to do today to keep myself busy, but I've been home for an hour and still haven't gotten around to doing anything but eat. I need to find myself some good motivation here for the next few months until I have a baby to keep me busy.

Maybe I should take walks.

Maybe I should get off the computer and go do something productive, like start dinner so that Hungry Scotty will be able to eat when he gets home!

Also, I learned something interesting. When you are translating your name to Hawaiian, it is not a direct translation but rather a translation of what your name means. My name is Nancy and it means gracious or grace. In Hawaii, they have a saying "Ke Aloha o ke Akua" which means "The Grace of God." That means that my name in Hawaiian would simply be...Aloha, or Kealoha. How cool is that? :)

Some day I will go and research my ancestry.

29 Weeks

29 Weeks on Wed. Jan. 4

How am I feeling?
- I can definitely tell I am carrying more weight in front of me. I lose my balance a lot!
- Sleeping has turned into Trimester-1 again. I was having a nice 2nd trimester but now I am back to waking up in the middle of the night and having to pee.
- I am officially bringing the body pillow into bed now to help me sleep. I don't know what I would do without it!
- A few more aches and pains in my back, but nothing to complain about.
- Still hungry all the time!

What am I feeling?
- Kicks!!! Kicks, kicks, kicks! And rolls and punches and just a whole bunch of love :)
- I had a really neat experience last night at the temple. I had my hands over my belly and I felt every single move Hailey made throughout the whole session. It was the neatest thing ever!

Mommy Stats:
- Well, I don't really have any stats for you right now. My last appt was 3 weeks ago and I know I've probably gained a few more pounds since then. I hope I am doing OK with my weight-gain though!
- Still waiting on my glucose test results from Dec. 28. They told me it looked a little high but that they would get back to me in a few days with the final results. Still haven't heard a thing!

Baby Stats (according to BabyCenter.com):
- Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.
- She can also swallow and hiccup! She also has hair and can open her eyes and hear.
(sorry I haven't been very good about updating all this type of stuff!)
