Things are going well enough. Scott called into work today and I attempted to go in but ended up leaving around 11:00am. We were just exhausted!! It has been a very physically and emotionally draining weekend, and we took the opportunity today (with the help of nice bosses - thank you Carley and Shauna!) to SLEEP. It was very nice and very much needed.

Tomorrow we'll go to work and hopefully not be too bombarded with questions/people, haha. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love that has been shown for our family. I even had my Visiting Teacher and best friend call to see if they need to make us dinner! Scott's parents' ward has been so tremendously generous and helpful in donating dinners so far. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful neighbors and friends who care.

Thank you to everyone who has been keeping my Father-In-Law in your prayers, and please continue to do so. His condition improved slightly yesterday, but as of today, no improvement. In fact, things may have gotten worse. Again, we just sit and wait. It's an hour by hour, day by day waiting game. We never know which way things will turn, and all the while, we still wait for a liver donation. If anything, though, we are grateful for the chance to gather together closer with our family.

Much love to you all and we'll continue to keep you updated.

Scott and Nancy

Right now we're just waiting.

It's the worst part. You don't know what's going to happen, but you have faith and just keep...waiting.

New Design...Again

I know, I've been changing my blog design around a lot. It's just so hard to find the one that you really, really like, but I think I've finally found it.

There's so much been going on lately, and when will I ever get around to telling you all about it? I think the main thing holding me back is the issue of uploading pictures, and how much effort that takes, but how I can't tell the story without pictures!

I really, really like my new background/design. I love how it is light and reminiscent of Springtime. My husband and I lately have been really into doing things in the outdoors. We've always loved going shooting, but added on this year is the new excitement for camping. We both grew up going camping and loved it, but I think we were still too much in the newly-wed phase last summer to want to go out camping at all, not to mention that we still both had really crazy schedules that were impossible to coordinate together.

This summer I am actually really, very excited for! We just bought new sleeping bags (and they are niceee!) and inherited a tent, camp stove, and lantern from my parents, which saves us about $100 right there. Ohhh, I was so happy when I found that out! Scott and I both have really nice schedules to work with, it makes it a lot easier to go out on the spur of the moment. We also have two guns now, which will be lots of fun camping with ;-) .

In addition to working out more (this is actually starting the 5th week I've been...a little...consistent in my exercising!), I have more energy, which definitely makes me really want to go hiking everywhere and go backpacking! Nothing is more fun than living out of a backpack for a couple days.

I have also been diligently working on putting together a 72-hr kit for me and Scott, however, the backpack I bought is just a bit too small and barely fits any of the essentials, not to mention socks, underwear, or a jacket! I guess I'll have to go out and search around for a good-sized backpack that will fit stuff for both of us so that when the time comes, we won't have to worry about grabbing two packs - just one, big, heavy one, haha.

But it's been lots of fun, I really enjoyed spending a little extra money and buying stuff for our 72-hr kit that will be totally worth it if/when the time calls for it. I actually feel a lot of comfort in knowing that even though there are no clothes in our kit, it is stocked with the absolute essentials and we can grab it on the way out the door.

Anyway, this post has been a little longer than I planned, but Scott is still playing his Ace Combat game that he is so close to beating and I am still sweaty from the gym and don't want to go to bed just yet. I do need to update my blog more often. It's just fun to be able to read about what's going on, even if it is just me doing the reading :-P .

Signing out for now, and I can't wait for warm weather!

Coming Soon!

...Don't worry! A post about our fabulous One-Year-Anniversary Weekend will be coming soon!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to my Wonderful Husband of ONE YEAR!! Wowza I can't believe it's been one year already! And I can't wait for there to be 10 years, and 20 and forever. It's so fun to have Valentine's Day when you're married!!

So in case anyone was wondering, here is a little bit of history for you today on why we celebrate Valentine's Day. I'm not sure exactly how accurate this is. After all, my friend just told me at work ;-).

The History of St. Valentine
Valentine used to be a priest in the Catholic church. As we all know, there are certain rules in the Catholic church that forbid certain clergymen to ever marry. St. Valentine would actually take these people and marry them in secret. However, his secret got out and he was caught and put in jail. To give him thanks, the people that he secretly married sent thank you cards to him in jail. These thank you cards are now what we call "Valentines" that we hand out to our friends and loved ones.

Happy Valentine's, Everyone!!

...the Dad's in the process of opening up an old-school diner. Go to his page on Facebook and like it (search "Nellie's Diner"), then catch up on his blog as well. It's all pretty exciting. Thanks!

This Week...

Monday -
Monday started out this week for me, and it seemed like it would be a good one because of how good last week was. I was still pretty pumped up about being able to keep to my running schedule, so that gave me the motivation to go running this day. And work was good, and fast, and busy, as always. I love my job!!

Tuesday -
We had an Alfac agent come over to our house and talk to us about...supplemental insurance! I actually really like the idea, and geez, you never know when something horrible is going to happen to you (that's why you have insurance!), but for right now, I just don't think it's something that the husband and I need right now. Oh, I don't know! I always like being prepared but this is so hard! It's just more and more money to spend somewhere to make you stay safe in the future!

Wednesday -
Wednesday...what a day. Number one, can you say FREEZING?? Well, Tuesday was freezing too, but this day I had to go out to the gym and as soon as I got home from work there was nothing that could get me to go outside again. Hence...this and a bunch of other excuses and I didn't go running. I know...

Thursday -
So then you would think that since Thursday is my other running day that I would be over my excuses and run harder to make up for my laziness yesterday? No!

We went out to Chuck-A-Rama for our weekly date, and then, blessed of all blessed stores, we went to Sportsman's Wearhouse!!!! This store is located right on University Ave, close to the Quilted Bear and in the same parking lot as Chuck, and so much closer than Gunnies and Cabelas! I could live in that store, literally. Our first exposure to this store (last Saturday) did more than it had to to convince me that this summer is going to be filled to the brim with hiking, backpacking, and camping. So much camping! I have already planned out everything I am going to buy, and I am so excited to get started! I also have been meaning to put together a legit 72-hour kit for myself and Scotty, so this store will soon become my new best friend when I start working on these projects more. Yay!! Oh, and I forgot to mention. Scott loves this store for another reason, and that is called guns. But, I don't blame him. I would love to own another gun!!

And then we came home, I was too full to go running, so I laid down, Scott tried to make me go to the gym (like he has been so good in doing), and he even said he would go with me! What a wonderful husband - he never goes to the gym with me! And what did I do? I told him no, I was too "tired," and he ended up going without me. Wow, what a guilt trip!!

Friday -
So Friday, then, had to be the best day in the world. Because I felt just down-right awful for not making it to the gym Thursday night like I said I would, and making Scott go by himself...I decided I wasn't going to let that get me down, and I made extra-sure to make this day be a happy day and not a pouty day! Right after work, I went to the gym and ran even longer than I normally did (yay!), and when I came home, oh, I just have the most wonderful husband in the world! He made dinner while I took a shower and got to paint my toenails. It was wonderful! And he even did the dishes, which gave me time to fold all the laundry. What a good team we make, and I am so grateful for such a loving husband who still serves even after I treat him like a bum.

Saturday -
And today is a special day! Why? Because I have the day off! And piano lessons have been rescheduled...again. But that's ok, we kind of chose a bad time to have piano lessons. Maybe we should change it permanently, but I don't know what other time works better than Saturday mornings. Today is the day I get to relax, eat breakfast, read my scriptures (well, haha, I do those last two things every day), balance the checkbook, go SHOPPING! I love grocery shopping. Think I am crazy all you want. I....loooove...going grocery shopping.

And guess what we might get to do tonight.....Sportsman's Wearhouse!! Woo-hoo!!!
