Blue is for BYU. Hence, the change. Why? Because it's BYU season, of course!

Ok, so I think we have figured out that it is not my Blogger account itself that is not letting me post anything. Obviously I am able to post on a different computer. Except I wasn't able to pull it up on my phone either. So what's up??

Maybe it's my computer. It is getting pretty old.

So what to say now that I have the small opportunity to blog again?

The fall leaves are beautiful.

In my short (unwilling) haitus away from Blogger (which is really funny, because sometimes I don't post for even longer breaks than this), I tried out Wordpress. It's ok, but you can't customize anything without paying. And I didn't really want to write anything and tell people about it and then have them be confused between the two blogs. So I gave up on that.

Scotty has lots of homework this semester, but he is being a good boy and working really hard on his assignments and studying. He also flew to Oregon!

Hailey's 6 month check-up went well. She got her shots and she got weighed and measured. She grew about 3 inches - 25%. Awesome. She gained......1 lb. <5 and="and" awesome.="awesome." break="break" but="but" chin="chin" double="double" going="going" growing.="growing." growing="growing" has="has" healthy="healthy" her="her" i="i" is="is" just="just" keep="keep" love="love" might="might" nonetheless="nonetheless" not="not" rolls="rolls" s="s" she="she" small.="small." so="so" sometimes="sometimes" swear="swear" to="to">
I also stopped nursing because she was so small and I was producing less. I mean, nursing is great and she needs it, but I wanted to monitor her intake more closely, so I took the jump and went to formula. And I feel really, really good about it. She has been taking it well. And she's been eating her fruits and veggies and cereal, so it's all good, in a way. Also, my pumps broke, so good timing!

I really want to get a high chair. And not a wooden one. If my baby were 18 lbs, and sitting, ok. But she's not. So, no.

Fall is fun. I want to make decorative blocks and make my house smell good.

I'll sign off for now, I guess. I don't want to swamp you with all the thoughts running through my head.
Hope you have a good Friday.

P.S. My brother is home visiting from Afghanistan! Go Marines.

I'm Back!

I know my last post was only 2 days ago, but I have been so unbelievably frustrated with Blogger the last couple weeks for not lettimg me write a single post because every time I clicked "new post," the page was BLANK!

So anyway! Here I am! At work. On my break. I figured I needed to take advantage of this oportunity and write one of the posts that I really wanted to post about. And honestly, it's not even that exciting, but this is a blog! And I want to blog about my life!

So here goes!

Last week. Was. Crazy! I haven't been this busy since I was up at Utah State, it feels like! I had something almost every day! It definitely kept me and my home homework-ridden husband on our toes.

Monday 9/3: Labor Day. That is pretty much self-explanatory. We went swimming with Scott's family (minus Scott - he had to work :( ) around noon and stayed the rest of the evening for dinner. Scott took his father flying and then joined us up around 6pm or so. Home late.

Tuesday 9/4: Day off. This was my first Young Women's activity! I was super excited! We did a fun Getting-to-Know-You activity where we placed objects on a table and had to guess who it belonged to. After that, we read cards with questions about ourselves and answered them for everyone. It was really fun! I am just loving my new calling. And Scott had lots of homework.

Wednesday 9/5: I can already tell that Wednesdays are going to be my busy day! I work until 5pm and have to get down to Mapleton by 6:00pm for Musettes practice! Didn't I tell you? I joined a choir!! They are based out of Mapleton/Springville. It is a lady's choir and they do a Christmas and a Spring concert. I am so excited to be singing again! That practice goes from 6-7pm. Scott watched Hailey for me. And apparently she did not cooperate and was clingy. He was not the happiest when I got home. Stressful.

Thursday 9/6: Hailey and I took my good friend Shelby to the airport in the morning. I decided to take the long way home and drove Hailey past Temple Square. I stopped by my parents and then ran some more errands. I got home just in time for piano lessons at 3:45pm. Whew! Long day running around!

Friday 9/7: I worked and then headed straight home for....WILSON PHILIPS IN CONCERT AT THE STATE FAIR!!! Oh, what a flashback to the 90's! I loved every second of it and was so glad my mom and sis wanted to go! In preparation for the concert, I wanted to look up their songs and become more familiar with the ones I didn't know. One of the ones I found was a cover they did called "Daniel." Secretly, I kind of hoped they'd sing it, even though it didn't seem to be super popular. Well, after a long detour of wrong turns and such, we got there halfway through the concert and they were singing "Daniel"! I was so glad I got to hear it. And then of course they sang "Hold On" at the end after they got called back on stage. The greatest thing about that song was seeing the husbands singing along with their wives. Everyone knew the words. I loved it.

We also walked around and saw all the fun stuff and I really wish we could have stayed longer. We saw the butter cows! And I got to see the crochet projects. And also, Jenn got stopped by the hair people in the demonstration building and got asked out by an Israeli name Ouria. He was really funny.

Saturday 9/8: This was a hard day. It started off early and didn't end until late. We had a baby shower at 10:30am (which was SUPER fun), then had to leave that early for the Spanish Fork Airport Airshow, then back home to try to make Hailey nap, but she didn't, and she had barely eaten anything because I was running her around everywhere, and then Scott came with me to Orem and we went shopping at Macey's and, all in all, it was just a busy day and Hailey wasn't happy.

Sunday 9/9: This day was nice just to STAY HOME. I loved it. I enjoyed every minute of it.

And there you have it. I know things are going to be busy this semester with Scott having homework and flying, but I love it. I love that he is loving school (well...the flying part at least!). I guess being busy is what keeps you on your toes!

September 11, 2001 - Where I Was

I really wanted to write this while it was still Sept. 11. I finally had to go to a different browser to get Blogger to work for me. Sheesh! It's really struggling right now!

Where was I on Tuesday, September 11, 2001? I was in Lindon, UT. I went to school like any normal day. I was in 7th grade. I met up with my friend Ashley by her locker in E Hall by the lunch room at Oak Canyon Jr. High before school started. Our other friend, Jordan, was by us and told us that a plane had crashed into a building. I thought, Whoa! That's crazy.

I went to 1st Period: English with Mrs. Raby from Finland. There it was that I found out it was the World Trade Center (whatever that was) and that two planes had crashed and they had or were collapsed. Usually we just watch Channel 1 news at the end of the period, but this time, we watched the real news and did that the whole class period.

Other classes followed suite. Some still taught, but most just had the TV on instead.

I went home. I remember sitting on my bed and thinking, This is going to be big. If there was ever a time I needed to record my thoughts/feelings about something, I needed to do it today because this is something my posterity is always going to remember. I am going to want to be able to tell my posterity that I was there and this is how I felt. So I did. I wrote some feelings down. I think I said, "I think I'm supposed to cry, but I'm not sure. I feel like it, but I can't. I know this is big, though." Although now I think I am going to have to dig it up and read what it really says.

Anyway, days, weeks, months later, and pictures, videos, songs, specials are being posted everywhere about the event. Everyone is grateful for the firemen and policemen who gave their lives and time to come help dig out through the rubble. And you know what? I think they are true heroes. That is what I've always liked about the Batman movies. It was never the military or feds who had to come in and save the day. It was always just a fight between the villains and the policemen (with the help of the vigilante, of course). Sometimes those policemen are the unsung heroes. I am grateful for them.

I just read on KSL.com today that they have finally decided to put on their bike helmets and patrol the Provo River Trail. It's sad that we need this, yet I am so grateful they have decided to keep that trail safe. I knew that girl that got attacked. And now we can prevent that from happening.

Firemen and policemen do so much and sacrifice so much to do what they do. I have known people go through both programs, and they are not just anything to breeze on through. Firemen are even so nice as to come to our house at who-knows-what-a.m. and help fix our smoke detector.

Next time you see a policeman or fireman, thank them for what they do. So much goes on behind the scenes that we don't ever see. Thank them for all their hard work. Thank you. You keep our communities going.

6 Months!

I can't believe Hailey is 6 months. She is now closer to a year old that she was from being born. It's exciting, because I love watching her grow and progress, but at the same time, it's crazy how fast this year has flown already.

There are so many things to write about Hailey today! So I'll just start from the beginning and just go from there! She turned 6 months on Aug. 28. She has been rolling like crazy. It's almost impossible to keep her on her back anymore, especially when dressing her or changing her diaper. She's a very wiggly little girl. I have to keep a much closer eye on her, although I am not perfect. A couple falls, pulling a game cube off the shelf onto her head....yeah. We're working on it!

She loves to smile and laugh. I love playing with her and bouncing her on the bed. She loves being played with. She will smile for anyone. She is such a happy little girl.

Like I had mentioned before, she is eating from a spoon! This has made me so happy and has relieved so much stress off of me. We did cereal straight for two weeks and on Saturday, we started green beans. Om-nom-nom! She is taking to them quite well, although not without getting it everywhere in the meantime!

Speaking of food, she has started formula. I ran out of my frozen milk supply for the babysitter about halfway through August, and I wasn't pumping enough anymore to have enough fresh milk on hand either. I knew she wasn't getting very much from me every time I nursed, even though she seemed content. Her diapers just weren't as full, and so I had to do what I had to do. I've been supplementing formula at each feeding and then the babysitter gets to use what little milk I have pumped during work and then formula. But she doesn't really care what she's eating, as long as she's eating. She's already used to the bottle, so that's really nice. I am just happy that she's getting full again. It's also nice that for dinner now, she eats her baby food and then is usually pretty good. I am liking that!

She's definitely teething. She's a lot more cranky. She also definitely knows when I leave the room. And she hates it. She loves her toys. She is great at grabbing at anything she can see and shoving it into her mouth. She's not sitting quite yet, but we'll get there soon. She still does her "superman" and likes to sing a lot. Her hair is growing and growing and growing and crazy and wild. It has also really lightened up! I've had hair ties for a while, but we bought clippies and I'm excited to use those to add variety.

I am just loving this little girl so much. She makes me and Scotty so happy. I can't imagine life without her. I know she was meant to be in our family. Having her as a great little baby makes me not so scared to have more babies. Not saying that's anytime soon!

Happy 6 Months, little Hailey Lu!
